Role Purpose 

Belfast Harbour has a busy canteen, catering for over 200 employees.

This role requires the successful candidate to work as part of a kitchen team to ensure that spaces are kept neat, tidy and sanitary, as well as, assisting in kitchen duties connected with preparation, cooking and presentation of meals as directed by the Cook.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Cook with food preparation for various sandwiches, salads and fruit cups.
• Recording lunch orders
• Preparation of Tea & Coffee trays for meetings each day
• Ensure water bottles and clean glasses are available in meeting rooms
• Top up and clean out coffee machine in both canteen and kitchen areas
• Refill of sundry items in canteen area including jam, butter, milk, napkins, paper cups.
• Top up glass bottles of water in the fridge
• Replace linen in meeting rooms as required
• Maintain a hygienic and tidy environment within the kitchen area.
• Ensure counters, work surfaces and floors are kept clean.
• Filling and emptying of Dishwasher and cleaning of dishes as required.
• Helping with stock rotation and putting away food orders.
• Working as part of a team, you will provide an efficient and friendly service to customers, assisting as directed with all aspects of food preparation and presentation to high quality standards.

Essential Criteria

• Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate
• Flexible and adaptable approach
• Good communication skills
